5 months update

Boy time flies when you are having fun!!

I have learned so many new tricks in the last month. I can now roll over. I learned the back to front and I am starting to master front to back. I have even learned to put my knees underneath me. Watch out mom and dad, I am going to be crawling soon.

I have also learned to start talking. I scream loud a lot and now I say ba ba ba and ma ma ma

I have continued to eat my rice cereal and mom has even given me a couple of other foods. Those are sure some interesting tastes. I don't like peas or beans. Look at the face I gave mommy when I was eating those green beans earlier... yuck!!

Not much else is going on here. Hope you are all doing well.

Four month update

Sorry I have been able to write lately. My mom has been traveling with work so it is just dad and I hanging around.

I learned to sit up on my own, but that only lasts a couple of seconds.. and Mom keeps telling me I look like a gorilla! Dad also taught me to blow raspberries. Mom sure was surprised when she got home.

My big brother and sister have gone to visit family in Chicago. They got to go camping for a week and sound like they are having a great time.

I went to the doctor last week for my 4 month checkup. I weighted 16 lb 14oz and was 23 3/4 inches tall. They say that is about average for my age. They had to poke me in the legs again.. but it didn't hurt too bad. I did get a virus when I was there though so I haven't been myself lately. I did get mom to stay home with me today though.

We had a great party this weekend. It was the fourth of July. After it got dark out Dad lit these things on the street and they had lots of pretty colors. I got so excited that my feet were kicking like crazy.

I also started eating solid foods this weekend. Mom gave me some rice cereal on Saturday. I wasn't sure on the first couple of bites but after that I had it down. I really like that stuff. I eat it about once a day... mmm mmm good.

Trip to Wisconsin

Boy did I have a good time this weekend (5/28/08). I went with Mom and we took a plane to Wisconsin to visit Grandma and Grandpa Wallingford. I got up early Saturday morning and came back on Wednesday.

We stayed at grandma and grandpa's house. Grandma had all sorts of good stuff for me. When we got there she had my favorite food, a nice comfy place to sleep, and a stroller to ride around in. Grandma and grandpa played with me and I smiled at them all weekend long.

Mom and I did all sorts of visiting while we were in Wisconsin. I got to go and see where my great grandma and grandpa were buried. After that we went to see my great grandma Wallingford. She loved to sing to me and hold me. I smile and cuddled with her for a little bit.

My aunt Tricia came to visit me for a whole afternoon. I just couldn't get enough of that silly man with the bald head that she brought along!! He played with me for a while on the floor. I don't know about that aunt Tricia though. She kept thinking that I should be walking. Just wait till I am running circles around her once I do start walking!

I wanted to tell everyone how much fun I had so I typed this all by myself to you.
I hope that you know how to read baby :)

Caden's New Toys

Tonight we got out a couple of Caden's new toys since he seems to be seeing a lot more colors. He was so amazed by them and played for quite some time.

Mother's Day Weekend

The Ortiz family had another busy weekend (but aren't they all like that anymore). This weekend, in addition to it being Mother's Day, Alex's team played in a soccer tournament.

The tournament was for all top finishing teams in our area. We played teams from Austin, Georgetown, and Round Rock. Soccer start early on Saturday morning. We all met to go down to the complex at 8:00 am. Her team tied the first two games and won the last game 4 to 1. The last game was a major milestone for her team because they played another team from Temple that they are always trying to beat.

For Mother's day, we returned since the girls qualified for the playoffs. They won their first game and proceed to the finals. The last game was a real nail bitter. They ended up losing 1-3 but played a really good game. For the whole central Texas area they came in second place. Here are all of the girls with their trophies.

Caden spent his first whole day outdoors on Saturday. It was 90 degrees and humid, but suprisingly he took the whole thing real well. He seemed to be really interested in the first game. He would sit on my lap and watch the people go back and forth. He looked like someone watching tennis.. back and forth... back and forth. Mom forgot the camera so unfortunately it is just a memory no photo to share. Later he laid under a tree and took a nice nap. Everyone commented how peaceful he looked... and how they all wanted to be just like him!!

After the games on Sunday we went to Gattiland with the team. The kids enjoyed some pizza and then went to play a couple of games. Caden even joined in on the fun. He was a cheap date though because he was more interested in looking at the bright lights than anything else. He and Poppi checked out all of the cool things before he was just too tired to keep his eyes open anymore.

Mother's Day was nice. The kids got me some waterglobes that go in my plants to help keep them watered. I am really excited to try and use them so I might actually be able to keep something alive. Caden even gave me a special treat.. he decided to laugh yesterday for the first time. It is so neat to see all of the new things he is learning to do. He makes me smile at least once every day.

Hope all of the mothers had a great day. We will talk to you again soon.

Birthday Weekend

Well this weekend was Ralphy's birthday. He turned 13. He went with Ralph, for the first time, to the paintball park and played paintball with a whole group of people from the neighborhood and from Ralph's work.

Alex and I set up for the party and made an awesome cake... if I do say so my self!!

Alex played a playoff game today for soccer. Her team ended up winning 2-1. This placed her team in second place for our soccer club. The team had a pool party today where they got their trophy. Her team did so well this season that they qualified for the area playoffs next weekend in Austin.

Caden has been doing well. He recently went to his 2 month checkup. He now ways 11 lb 14 oz and is 21.5 inches long. He has learned to smile and silent laugh now.

Well that is all for our eventful weekend... talk to you all soon
